random: posterfest, the final countdown

Yeah, so when I said that there were a couple more that I hadn't posted, and you should be thankful that you hadn't seen them?

So, there were more than a couple.

And for the unlikely newcomer, this is the third in a series of entries (...good grief); the first entry is locked, but then the series continues over here in a now-open entry and hopefully concludes in this one.

(Yes, that's right! I was encouraged! So it's still not all my fault! Ha! HA ha, even!)

This one ... honestly, I did this one because it's a startlingly sexy presentation of Uncle Sam, especially for something official. Even in the wartime posters, he might look angry or sad, but he never really looks all that vital, normally. (Sad thing is, the rewrite is kind of true, these days.)

I could not make this one quite work, no matter what I did.



I think it may be in part because the original is simply so appalling that there's no way to rescue it.



This one was pretty much irresistable from the start, though.
