I ... really wouldn't have expected this comic to go there, somehow.
But how would that make your car run?
"The cows are not what they seem..." (The line is from this episode, for which I have a certain fondness...)
You know ... far be it for me to be a stickler for historical accuracy or anything, but this really does seem a woefully inadequate outfit for a Nazi paratrooper. Even in the 1940s. Especially in the 1940s.
Stuff to remind myself to look for, with annotations as appropriate:
Brit 3
Fables 67
Zombies Calling GN (...oh, shut up. I like her other stuff, so why not give this a chance?)
Hellboy Animated vol 3: The Menagerie
All Star Superman #9 (...9 issues in two years. And at that, it's a paragon of regular publishing, compared to All Star Batman and Robin and the yet-to-even-be-solicited All Star Wonder Woman, Batgirl and Flash.)
Nightwing 138 (...maybe. I will say that they're making the jump from Bat-title to Bat-title flow surprisingly well.)
Simon Dark 2
Superman Confidential 9 (...maybe. Tells the story of how Supes met Alan Scott. Might be interesting. And someday, when I'm a very very old man, the "Kryptonite" arc may actually get finished.)
League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: The Black Dossier (via Amazon. When it was first offered for sale. LAST YEAR.)
Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service vol 5 (listed as Nov 14 on Amazon, but not on Wizard's list, so this probably slid a bit.)
Captain Carrot and the Final Ark 2 (...oh, shut up.)
Ex Machina vol 6: Power Down
Gene Simmons' Zipper (...no, really, please shut up.)
Courtney Crumrin and the Fire Thief's Tale (YAAAY!)
Wonder Woman 14 (...what? It's Gail Simone!)
Suicide Squad: Raise the Flag 3 (...All's I can say is, I love me some Amanda Waller, and she hasn't had nearly enough face time in this. I await her hopefully soon to be visited vengeance with bated breath.)
Teen Titans East special (If only to watch Power Boy and his magical cleavage window meet his hopefully inevitable DOOOOM!)
Venus in Love vol 1 (I think this is Minx, but I have no idea)
Kimmie66 (I know this is Minx)
Welcome to Tranquility 12
Looking like a hellaciously expensive week if I get everything. I'm by way of thinking quite a lot gets dropped from that list. Looks to be a trade heavy week, even so.
Garth Ennis Chronicles Of Wormwood HC, $27.99: This would not only be a "No, I don't think so" but a "Great goshamighty, oh my goodness gracious, dear god in heaven, HELL NO!" Don't get me wrong; I really did like this series, and I was vaguely on the fence about buying the trade, since I already had it once. I don't necessarily mind repeat purchases, if it means that I get something I enjoyed and may read again in a more easily handled format. But $30 (after tax) worth of repeat, just for the hardcover? Oh, my goodness gracious, HELL no!
