A Certain Cynical Someone (naming no names, but You Know Who You Are) might appreciate the final panel of this strip (click the image for detail), which is the sort of observation that gave one of my other weblogs its name.

...Well, that might explain why red shirts seem to be so STOOPID so much of the time. An acute lack of proper motivation.

Font Wars!

...Well, that's certainly a different take on the merger. Though, admittedly, this is a bit more ... dramatic. And this is a bit more ... um, well, yes. Quite. (Though I might actually watch that second one.)

One take on what happens when magic returns to the world. (Though, you know, somehow I didn't think that incantation was written quite that ...broadly, as it were.)

...That was not what I thought the King of Cookies would look like, somehow.

...Oh, Eve ... Oh, Eve...

Weirdly, I just saw a television skit the other day with the exact same punchline.

Well ... Yeah. That. And also that. REALLY that.

I've had days like that.

That would explain so much...

Best reason ever for not going. Though the lack of proper bathroom facilities and the dusty hygiene in general should be enough for most right thinking peoples. (Yes, I know there are people for whom this sort of thing appeals. They are called [a] campers, and [b] full-on bat-guano insane. Ahem.)

Comic Sans is a prosecutable offense.

Two things far too many people* are spending far too much time fretting and fussing about right now (unless all the world's REAL problems have been solved while I wasn't looking):

1. IKEA's font change.
2. Disney buying Marvel.

Some people need to get a clue before I lose my temper and kick them off the planet.

* "too many people" is defined in this case as being a number greater than zero. Really, people, hush UP.

I have rescued the IKEA catalog
You placed in the recycling
Forgive me
It was so full of Verdana
and tasty bargains

Indeed. I'm far more interested in worrying about Warner deciding to exercise its influence over DC.

....What? What Hey, one has to have one's priorities in order, here!

Warner has owned DC since approximately forever. If they were gonna do grand evil to DC they'd have done it already.*

*There is an alternate theory which states that this has already happened.

Ah, but you see, before last week, DC was a mostly autonomous division somewhere under the Time Warner banner. Now it's a fully incorporated division of Warner Entertainment. (Somewhere out there is a history of the whole DC/Warner affiliation which indicates that, as part of the original owner needing to rectify its organization, DC actually technically bought Warner Brothers. Warner seems to have once been particularly subject to the "mouse buying the elephant" purchases, for some reason.
