Well, now. That's certainly a more interesting rule of thumb than the "touch the skin on your hand" rule.

I just wonder what you do if you don't have one to hand, so to speak, and don't remember what those textures feel like. Call a friend and say, "Hey, would you be willing to do something for me, and then describe the result? Or better yet, come over and help me figure it out."
