I'm thinking that the Bears' motto this season really will be "We don't entirely suck!" The defense has been pretty good in both games -- actually outstanding against Detroit this week, with five interceptions, a few sacks, and pretty much sitting on what should have been a decent rushing game -- and the offense has been ... more or less what you'd expect with a rookie quarter back, no established receivers in the offense, and a very strange running game.

Next week, we get Cincinnati, in the "Maybe neither of us Sucks as bad this year as we did last year!" bowl. That could be an entertaining game, with the Bengals' so-so defense against the Bears' so-so (on a good day) offense, and the Bears strong defense against the Bengals strong offense.

And what on earth is wrong with Green Bay and Minnesota? If they keep playing like this, there's a very real chance that they'll both finish behind the Bears and maybe even Detroit. (I can just see it. Columnists and commentators everywhere shaking their heads and saying, "I didn't think that was even possible," as the entire NFC Central/North staggers to the finish line, struggling for the playoffs with the entire division at 6-9 with a game to play, or something like that.)
