"Can Rex Grossman make it through an entire season? Can he make it through this entire season?"
And, answering my own rhetorical question (or so I thought when I posed the question to some friends a couple days ago), it turns out that the answer is NO, Grossman is not durable enough to last out a season. He broke his ankle in tonight's preseason game, out for three to four months, which effectively means that he's out for the season, since he likely won't be back before the end of November.
Weird thing is, none of his season-ending injuries is the sort of thing that by themselves makes you think, "Wow, what a fragile quarterback." They're all these weird fluke major injuries. But at the same time, he's never made it through a season.
Jeez. Couldn't he at least wait to get a season-ending injury until he was in a game that mattered?
The Bears have had 20 starting QBs in the last 15 years, more than any other NFL team. And their merry-go-round will go on and on...
Note: not that I like the Iggles even a little, but you do have to appreciate Donovan McNabb's sense of humor. "When I was growing up, I wanted to be an actor, and now here I am, starring in 'The Days of Our Lives'..."
