So two of the three longest World Series title droughts have ended in back to back years.
I'm thinking that the Cubs fans will be by way of having some seriously unrealistic expectations for next year.
Have to say, the Sox actually did what I asked them to do. First, they won; second, they won on the road; third, they won on the road at just the moment when it started being cold and windy and rainy here. (Hey, call me a spoilsport, but having lived near Riot Central for each and every one of the Bulls' titles, I'm all about having a riot-free existence.)
I was actually out on the street when the celebration started. It was very very ... weird. Kind of slow motion. First, just a couple semis going down the street, honking their horns. Then a bunch more cars honking. Then about a million police cars, going very very slowly down the street. Then a bunch of yahoos here and there, shooting off their guns. At which point I went inside, thanks.
